Residency period: 4–17 May 2026 (two weeks)This residency is for artists and makers working with textile-based practices, (including weaving, fiber art, and textile research) and contemporary circus. The residency offers time and workspace to develop an ongoing practice or project.
EligibilityApplicants must be based outside Norway at the time of application.
SupportTravel and accommodation costs are covered.
The artist will receive 1,000 EUR to support materials and other related expenses.
AccommodationYou will share a house with another artist in residence. The house has a shared kitchen, living room, and bathroom, and a private bedroom. The house is located approximately 100 meters from the textile workshop and 3km (10 minutes by bike) to the circus studio.
Exchange with the Local Community
Mikromakeri values exchange and shared experiences. During the residency, artists are invited to share their work or process with the local community in a way that feels relevant and comfortable to them. This may take the form of a workshop, lecture, open studio, performance, or similar activity.
The format, scale, and timing of this exchange will be discussed together before and during the residency and does not need to be final at the time of application.
On-site Support
Artists in residence will have a facilitator on site during their stay. This will be one of the founding members of Mikromakeri - Troels Fuglsang, Mari Dahl Stoknes, or Estelle Bourdet, whose workshops the artists will be working in.
